First of all, both vendors supply mission-critical software for a dealership – Dealer Management Systems (DMS). And secondly, both vendors have been dominating the DMS market for more then 20 years. That is why so many dealers may be surprised seeing Cox Automotive actually being the market leader in the extended automotive technology and dealer management system segment.
With all its satellite companies including Autotrader, VinSolutions, Dealertrack, VAuto, Xtime, and others, Cox Automotive generated over $5 bn revenue in 2015. This is more than half the revenue that CDK Global and R&R generated!
